Disney Easter Eggs

Easter is coming closer. In fact, its two days away.
So this week's posts will be about the hidden "Easter Eggs" in Disney movies.
So first off, what is an Easter Egg?

An Easter Egg, as defined by Wikipedia, is "an intentional inside joke, hidden message, or feature in a work such as a computer program, video game, movie, book or crossword puzzle". It's name originates, as you have guessed, from the Easter Egg hunt.

Disney and other animation studios such as Pixar are well known for hiding Easter Eggs in their movies. Here are some that I found particularly interesting.

1. Big Hero 6
Let's start with the most recent Disney movie, Big Hero 6. Big Hero 6 contains many references to its predecessor, Frozen. For example, Disney seems to have a bone to pick with Hans.
undefined
Hans is still a wanted man, not only in Arundelle, but also in San Fransokyo, apparently.
This is not the only reference. Another Hans is seen in the movie. Check out this GIF.
undefined
Baymax showing off his amazing fighting skills, or something else?
The statue being destroyed by Baymax's fist is, yes you guessed it, Hans.

2. Tarzan
This is in one of the theories I introduced before, but there are a few Beauty and the Beast references. Here in this screenshot you can see Mrs. Potts and Chip.
undefined
This extends to the Belle-Jane Theory. Basically it says that Jane is one of Belle's Great-great-great-great-great-.....grandchildren, and the pots and teacups were some antiques that Belle left for her family. I'm pretty sure that teacup and teapot are the two characters in Beauty and the Beast, because if you check out the teacup in the picture, it has a crack in it, hence the name, "Chip".
Hi there
3. Tangled
This remake of Rapunzel contains tons of Easter Eggs of other Disney movies. First things start in Rapunzel's room. The room is full of other fairytales, quite literally. Rapunzel has a whole bunch of books of the stories.
undefined
This particular book is the exact same page as seen in a scene of "Sleeping Beauty". This is also quite funny because Rapunzel and Aurora actually have a bit in common; they're both locked away in a tower until they meet their Prince Charming.
undefined
If you actually take the time and effort to look into the movie, take a screenshot of it, and read all the incredibly small text to read the titles of the books in this scene(I didn't do that, TBH.), you can see that the books have titles like The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan.

Another Easter Egg in this movie is Rapunzel's taste in furniture. Rapunzel seems to have the same wardrobe as Belle did.

4. The Pizza Planet Truck
The Pizza Planet Truck appears in every Disney-Pixar movie. This first appeared in the Toy Story movie, as the truck that takes Buzz and Woody away from their beloved Andy. It makes appearances in A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc, Monster's University(because monsters obviously love Pizza, too.), Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, Cars 1 and Cars 2, Up, Wall E, and even Brave.
undefined
I mention Brave because Merida probably lived in a time before trucks, or probably even pizza, was invented. Disney still found a way to hide their way inside.

5. Frozen
This particular Frozen easter egg doesn't contain any stuff from other Disney movies, but this is one pretty funny "behind the scenes". If you've watched Frozen, you probably remember this scene:

Yep, the startling claim by Kristoff that "All men pick their noses and eats it".
Well, those who loved Frozen enough to watch to the end of the ending credits would have found this: A disclaimer by Disney.
THANK GOD

I hope you had fun reading about these Easter Eggs. There are a lot more that I would introduce had I had more time. I just thought this would be appropriate for the upcoming holiday. So...um Happy Easter everyone!

  3. I knew about that Disney put Easter eggs in their movies like the Pizza Planet Truck, but I wasn't aware of the various different Easter eggs. I'm gonna have to start looking harder for those. Awesome article!
